Secondary Schools
In 2007 we expanded into the senior circuit. Schools have an option of day workshops or for those who wish to delve further, we provide a four week programme.
This programme is similar to the layout of the primary level course but is devised in accordance to the age and year of the group. The students will learn to value a whole new culture while developing the confidence and self - esteem to put on a performance in front of their peers and teachers.
Both our day workshops and four week programme cater for all years. We find it a great assistance to first year students who are embarking on a whole new phase of their life. Our workshops provide a safe place to get to know each other through rhythm and team building exercises. Transition year is also a year of new experiences and discovering new abilities. Our main objective is to help students to develop skills such as listening, responding and co-ordination in a fun and exciting way. It stimulates concentration skills which benefits other school activities.
Shikaka
We often perform with our sister group Shikaka. This is a female percussion group where we perform traditional West African rhythms and our own original compositions. We have played at The World Oceans festival, Culture Day, Buskaid and often perform at weddings.
